I have a conflicted relationship with the United States. I love the life it has afforded me, but I hate that it's straying from its founding principles. Or is it?? It's hard to know what really is the American way. Is the soul of the U.S. idealistic, freedom of expression, pursuit of happiness ... or is the soul of the U.S. violent, using the tools of war for self preservation? If it's the latter, then perhaps we aren't straying too far from our founding principles after all. In the end, it's all so inextricably spun together that it's hard to seperate one from the other, two strands in the same thread. So yeah ... I definitely have a conflicted notion of the United States, but I still love my home.
