America is big enough to be like Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities opening: "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times...." There is something for everyone, not unlike the way people would look at a Holy book and filter words they read in it to their own point of view. See it in the color of the lens being worn. Beauty or beast, it is in the eye of the beholder. Do we see some unfinished business, opus, work of art; is that America? Or is it not? America, where ideas and other things can grow and flourish. Personal computer—what was that in 1975? Now who can work in an office without a computer. What was Google in 1990? Now a mega search engine and company. What about Bill Gates, Apple, iPod…..? So many ideas come to life and grow and flourish. Abundant crops, the bread basket, corn, sugar, beets, tomatoes, potatoes—food glorious food. Have you ever seen the look on a foreigner’s face the first time they walk through an American supermarket, pure astonishment and amazement at so much—there is food aplenty in America. America the rich, America the middle class and America the poor. America still has those who are hungry going to bed. Bridge over troubled water, bridge to the future, I’d like to take a tour of you, the east, west, north and south of you As they sing in West Side Story…”I like to be in America.” I’d like to see all America—sea to shining sea. Search the world over and you will see, there will never be another you or me, nor another America. Wishing You All Everywhere, Peace, Sleep, Good Health, Food and Love.
